What Is PullBull? The Trading Card Auction Marketplace, Explained

PullBull (pullbull.xyz) is an online marketplace and auction site for collectible trading cards. Collectors open their own stores, list graded or raw cards as timed auctions, and buyers browse, watch cards, follow sellers and place bids. PullBull is at an early, pre-launch stage: paid checkout and payment protection are not active yet.

This page explains what PullBull is, who it is for, how it works today, and what is not available yet. We will keep it updated as things change, so this is the best place to check PullBull's current status.

PullBull in one minute

  • What it is: a web marketplace for collectible trading cards, built around seller stores and timed auctions.
  • Card games: PullBull is built for trading cards of all kinds, including Pokémon, sports cards, Magic: The Gathering and One Piece. At this early stage most listings and filters you will see are Pokémon, so check the market for the card types available right now.
  • Who sells: collectors and small sellers, each with their own store page at pullbull.xyz/store/ followed by the store name.
  • Who buys: collectors who want to browse cards, follow sellers they like and bid in timed auctions.
  • Sign-in: Google or Apple. You can also browse as a guest.
  • Prices: shown in US dollars.
  • Status: pre-launch. Paid checkout and payment protection are not active, and purchase requests do not collect money.
  • Where: in your web browser at https://pullbull.xyz. There is no app in the app stores at the moment; the site works on phones.

Who PullBull is for

Collectors who sell. If you have a binder of doubles, a few graded slabs or a growing pile of pulls from recent sets, a store on PullBull gives you one place to show them. Buyers can follow your store and come back to see what you list next.

Collectors who buy. If you like the tension of an auction but do not want to sit through a live stream, timed auctions let you check a card, read the details, add it to your watchlist and bid when you are ready.

People who care about condition. Every listing has room for condition, the grading company and the grade, so you can tell a raw Near Mint card from a slabbed one at a glance. If you are new to grading terms, our trading card condition and grading guide explains them.

How PullBull works

Stores

Each seller has a store, for example pullbull.xyz/store/zalmans. A store page shows the seller's listings, with filters for card type, set, condition and graded or raw cards. Buyers can follow a store to keep track of a seller they trust.

Timed auctions

Cards are listed as auctions with an opening bid and an end time. On each auction page you can see:

  • the seller's photos and the card details (game, set, card number, grading company and grade, if any)
  • the current or final bid and the number of bids
  • the bid history for that auction
  • a bid trend chart, which shows the bids on that one auction only, not completed sales or the wider market

When the timer runs out, the auction ends and the page shows the final bid.

Watching cards

Tap Watch this card to add an auction to your watchlist, so you can find it again before it ends.

Asking the seller

Signed-in users can contact the seller from a listing to ask for extra photos, a closer look at the corners or the back of the card, or details about shipping.

What is live today, and what is not active yet

We want this to be clear, because a lot of marketplaces promise more than they deliver.

Live today:

  • browsing the market, stores and auctions, including as a guest
  • sign-in with Google or Apple
  • seller stores with listings, filters and a follow button
  • timed auctions with opening bids, bid history and a bid trend chart
  • a watchlist
  • contacting sellers when you are signed in

Not active yet:

  • paid checkout: no money is collected on PullBull, and purchase requests do not collect money
  • payment protection or buyer protection: not available yet
  • published fees: PullBull has not published selling or buying fees
  • a mobile app: use the website in your phone's browser

When any of this changes, we will update this article.

What the Verified Seller badge means

Some stores show a Verified Seller badge. It means a PullBull administrator has approved that seller. It is not a guarantee that a card is authentic or in the condition described. Grading and condition details on a listing are supplied by the seller, so always look at the photos and ask questions before you bid.

Buying carefully while PullBull is pre-launch

Because payment protection is not active yet, use the same care you would on any peer-to-peer marketplace:

  1. Study the photos. Look at the front, back, corners and surface. Ask the seller for more photos if something is missing.
  2. Check graded cards. Enter the certification number from the slab label on the grading company's own website and compare the result with the card in the photos. Our grading guide shows what to look for.
  3. Agree on shipping first. Ask how the card will be packed, whether there is tracking, and who pays postage. Our guide on how to ship trading cards safely explains what good packing looks like.
  4. Be careful with payment. Be wary of anyone who pushes you to pay quickly, or in a way that offers no protection. If something feels wrong, walk away.
